Mother, daughter jump under train in Jashore

A woman and her teenage daughter have apparently committed suicide by jumping under a running train at Pultadanga under Churamonkathi in Jashore sadar upazila.

Police recovered the dead bodies at around 3:00pm on Monday (March 25).

The deceased were identified as Lucky Begum, 35, and her daughter Meem Khatun, 12. They were residents of Khulna district and used to reside in Haibatpur village.

Local people spotted the bodies of the mother and daughter at around 2:30pm just after the passing of a Chapainawabganj-bound ‘Mahananda Express’ train, and informed police.

A bag and a mobile phone were also recovered from the spot.
