5 members of a family die from electrocution in Moulvibazar

Five members of a family died from electrocution at Juri upazila in Moulvibazar district early Tuesday (March 26).

The incident happened at the house owned by Mokhles Miah at East Goalbari in Goalbari union of the upazila around 5 am.

The deceased were identified as Fayzur Rahman, 52; Shiri Begum, 45; Samia, 16; Sabina, 13 and Sayem Uddin, 8.

According to police and local sources, five members of a family died from electrocution after a live electric wire torn on the house.

A child named Sonia Aktar, 6, was also injured in this connection and is now undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Juri Police Station SM Mainuddin said the bodies were kept at Juri Upazila Health Complex.
