Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing along Naogaon border

A Bangladeshi national was shot to death by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) near the border at Naogaon’s Porsha upazila early today.

The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 40, son of late Siddique, a resident of Nitpur union in Porsha union.

Nitpur union parishad chairman Enamul Haque said Al Amin left home on Monday afternoon but did not return. Later, I came to know from locals that Al Amin was shot to death by the BSF members inside Indian territory.

Reason behind his killing could not be known immediately, he said.

Lt Col Mohammad Sadikur Rahman, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) -16 Battalion, confirmed the incident.
