Youth shot dead in Cox’s Bazar

A young man was shot to death after he was picked up in Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria upazila.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, son of Yusuf Mia.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chakaria Police Station Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that he was killed in Dumkhali area of Dulahazara union in the upazila on Monday (March 25) evening.
Quoting eyewitnesses, the OC said Abdur Rahman was taking preparation for having iftar with friends at a stall of Malumghat bazar on Monday. At that time, some armed miscreants carried out an attack on him. They picked him up to an auto-rickshaw at gun point and took away. Later, he was shot to death in Dumkhali area and the body was left near rail line.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
Primarily, it is being suspected that the miscreants killed Abdur Rahman over establishing supremacy in the area, OC Mohammad Ali said, adding that real cause behind his killing would be confirmed after investigation.
