Two siblings drown to death in Noakhali

Two siblings have drowned in a pond in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali, police said on Wednesday (March 27).

The deceased were identified as Bibi Fatema, 7, and son Abid Hossain, 4, kids of Md Abdul Hye hailed from Rameshwar village of Chaprashihat union.

Locals said the tragedy occurred this morning when the two kids went to a pond to wash their hands. At one stage, mother of the children noticed them and started screaming. Later, the victims were taken to upazila health complex where doctors declared them dead.

Kabirhat police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter.
