RMG workers protest in Gazipur for salary, Eid bonus

The workers of a garment factory in Gazipur staged a demonstration on Monday (April 1) demanding their salary and Eid bonus before the festival.
Sources said the workers of Keya Knit Composite Limited factory started demonstration around 6:00am blocking Konabari-Kashimpur local road.
Workers claimed that the factory authority didn’t clear the salary of last month (February). There are 8,000 of workers in the factory. The protest will continue till the salary, Eid bonus and annual leave allowances are not paid.
Saiful Islam, a worker of the factory said, “Eid is knocking at the door. However, we didn’t receive our monthly salary. We want our payment.
However, no statement was received from the factory authorities in this regard.
Confirming the matter, Konabari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) KM Ashraf Uddin said police forces were deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.
