Banking activities in six Bandarban upazilas suspended

Banking activities of the bank’s all branches in six Bandarban upazilas have been remained suspended due to security reason.

Assistant General Manager of Sonali Bank Osman Gani confirmed this at around 3:00pm on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, sixteen hours after a Sonali Bank branch was robbed in Bandarban’s Ruma Upazila, armed robbers attacked two more banks in Thanchi Upazila. 

The incident took place at around 12:00pm on Wednesday (April 3). Robbers corralled everyone in the banks and locked them into a room. Later, they fled the scene after taking money from the bank. 

Locals said 20-25 attackers entered Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank and looted money from the banks.
