Three killed in Rangpur road crash

At least three people were killed and two others were injured when a passenger bus rammed an auto-rickshaw in Colonypara intersection of Mahiganj thana in Rangpur on Wednesday night (April 3).

The deceased were known as Nahid, 18, son of Foyzur Rahman, Jonu Islam Joy, 14, and auto-rickshaw driver Rabiul Islam, 32.

Locals said Dhaka-bound a bus hit the three-wheeler in the area on Rangpur-Kurigram road, leaving one person dead on the spot and injured four others.

Later, the injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where two more people died under treatment.

Mahiganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rawshan Kabir confirmed the matter.
