Attack on Rampal Power Plant, 5 injured

Five security personnel, including two Ansar members, at the Rampal Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plant, were injured after a group of assailants attacked the power plant on Wednesday night (April 3).

The incident took place around 11:30pm.

Deputy General Manager Anwarul Azim said that approximately 50-60 armed individuals attempted to infiltrate residential areas of the power plant at around 11:30pm. Meanwhile, the security guards tried to stop them but the armed assailants attacked the guards, leaving five people injured.

Of the injured two were sent to Khulna Medical College and three were taken to upazila health complex.

Confirming the matter, Rampal police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Somen Das said law enforcement is actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the culprits.
