Pabna records season’s highest temperature at 40°C

Ishwardi upazila in Pabna district on Saturday noon recorded the highest temperature at 40 degrees Celsius in Bangladesh this year, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Nazmul Haque, senior observer of Ishwardi Meteorological Office, said 40 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded there at around 3:00pm. 40 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded on April 1 in Ishwardi.
Last year, Ishwardi upazila recorded the highest temperature at 43 degrees Celsius in Bangladesh, he added.
People's lives are coming to almost standstill in the northern districts due to the very severe heatwave.
