Three children drown in Chapainawabganj

Three children drowned in separate incidents in Shibganj and Bholahat upazilas of Chapainawabganj district on Saturday noon.

Among the deceased, Priyanka, 11, was daughter of Roop Kumar, a resident of Kamarpara area in Shibganj upazila. 

On the other hand, Azizul Haque, 11, son of Subodh Mistri, and Zihad, son of Abdul Kadir, were residents of Gohalbari area in Bholahat upazila.

Md Sazzad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station, and Sumon Kumar, Bholahat police station officer-in-charge, confirmed the news.

Sumon Kumar said Azizul and his classmate Zihad went underwater while taking a bath in the Mahananda River. They were rescued by fire service personnel and taken to Bholahat Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
