Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam being reappointed BSEC chairman again

Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam is being reappointed as the chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for another four-year term.

Prof Islam was appointed as the chairman of the BSEC in 2020 and his current tenure is scheduled to end in May this year.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently given her consent to the reappoint of the academician as chief of the capital market regulatory body following a proposal of the Financial Institution Division placed before her on 31 March.

Shibli has dedicated over two decades to teaching finance, banking, and insurance, while also actively contributing to various businesses, chambers, and research endeavors both domestically and internationally within his fields.
