Three killed in Jhalakathi lightning strikes

Three people were killed when lightning strucks on them at Kathalia upazila in Jhalakathi on Sunday (April 7).

The deceased were known as Helena Begum, 40, Minara Begum, 35, and Mahia Akter Ishana, 11.

Sources said that the thunderbolts struck them while the victims were returning home with their cattle in their villages, leaving the three people dead on the spot.

Jhalakathi police super Mohammad Afrujul Haque Tutul confirmed the matter.
