Tk2.5 crore toll collected from Bangabandhu Bridge in 24 hrs

The Bangabandhu Bridge authorities collected Tk2,50,89,200 in toll as 29,780 vehicles crossed the bridge in the past 24 hours ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals for Muslims.
The vehicles crossed the bridge from Saturday midnight to Sunday midnight.
Confirming the matter, Bangabandhu Bridge Executive Engineer Ahsanul Kabir Pavel said, Tk1,18,54,050 was collected as toll from a total of 15,086 vehicles in the east side of the bridge and Tk1,32,35,150 was collected as toll from a total of 15,694 vehicles in the west side of the bridge.
He also said that the number of vehicles on the highway is increasing as the Eid approaches.
The authorities have been collecting tolls since the bridge was inaugurated in 1998. Currently, the Commuter System Network (CNS) collects tolls for the bridge.
