Dentist, injured while trying to save his son, dies

A dentist, who was beaten by juvenile gang while trying to save his son at the Feroz Shah Colony ground under Akbar Shah Police Station of Chattogram city, has passed away.

Korban Ali died early Wednesday (April 10) at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital in the port city.

Ali Reza, son of the deceased, confirmed the information.

Ali was attacked by the juvenile gang and Korban was injured after he was beaten while trying to save him.

Juvenile gang, a gang of young criminals, attacked Ali Reza at the Feroz Shah Colony ground on April 5. His father Korban Ali tried to save him and was assaulted too. They hit my father on the head with a brick, said Ali Reza.

Korban lost consciousness and was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital initially. As his condition deteriorated, he needed treatment at an ICU. Hence, he was shifted to a private hospital.

He filed a case with the Akbar Shah Police Station on Sunday (April 7).

Police arrested three suspects on Tuesday over the case, said Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Akbar Shah Police Station.
