AL activist shot dead as two groups clash in Munshiganj

An Awami League activist was shot to death and five others injured in a factional clash over establishing supremacy in Munshiganj’s Sadar upazila early Saturday (April 13).
The deceased was identified as Parvez Khan, 20, the activist of local Ahmed group.
Munshiganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam said a clash ensued between Mamun and Ahmed groups, both groups involved in AL politics, at Mollakadi village under Charkeowar union of the upazila in the early hours of today, leaving at least six people critically bullet-injured.
Of the injured, Parvez died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital due to profuse bleeding, he said.
Another bullet-injured activist Rabbi was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment, the OC said.
The remaining injured were given treatment at Munshiganj General Hospital, he added.
