Two killed as truck rams auto-rickshaw in Chattogram

Two people were killed when a sand-laden truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram district early Monday (April 22).

The accident took place at Raikhali Pul area in Shakpura union of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Delwar Hossain, 30, and Mizanur Rahman, 32. Both were the passengers of the auto-rickshaw.

Boalkhali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nur Mohammad confirmed the news.

He said a sand-laden truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram district early today, leaving Delwar Hossain dead on the spot and Mizanur critically injured.

Later, Mizanur was rushed to Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead, the police official said.

Police seized the killer truck from the spot, the SI added.
