Husband, wife found dead in Gazipur

A young couple was found dead in their flat in a multi-storied building in Sreepur of Gazipur on Friday morning (April 26).

The deceased were known as – Md Israfil, 17, and his wife Rokeya Khatun, 15.

Local sources said the duo got married seven/eight months ago against their family consent. Israfil worked in a local workshop and Rokey used to work in a factory in the area.

Mafizul Haque, father of the victim Israfil said they lived in a rented flat. Noticing the open door this morning, family members entered into the flat and found them dead.

Sreepur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shakhawat Hossain said it is believed that they committed suicide.

Police also found a note near the bodies apparently written by Israfil in which he claims his wife killed herself because of him.
