3 killed as motorbike hits trolley in Sylhet

Three youths were killed as a speedy motorbike hit a trolley stationed on the Sylhet-Zakiganj highway at Barothakuri village under Zakiganj upazila of the district on Saturday (April 27) night.

The deceased were identified as Delwar Hossain, 35, son of late Abdul Shukur of Barothakuri village under Zakiganj upazila, Redwan Hossain, 26, personal assistant of Zakiganj upazila chairman and son of Saad Uddin of the same village and Monjur Ahmed, 25, a businessman of Sonasar Bazar of the upazila and son of Moin Uddin.

The accident happened in the area when a speedy motorbike hit a trolley, leaving three bike riders injured critically, said Md Jabed Masud, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zakiganj Police Station.

They were returning home from Sonasar bazaar at night.

Two of the injured were rushed to a local hospital and another was sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
