Mamunul Haque walks out of jail

Mamunul Haque, former Joint Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam, was released from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur on Friday morning (May 3).

Subrato Kumar Bala, senior jail super of Kashimpur High Security Jail confirmed the matter.

He said Mamunul Haque walked out from the prison around 11am.

Bail papers arrived at the jail on Thursday afternoon. It took time to complete the verification as several cases were filed against him.

On the contrary, hearing his release news, hundreds of followers of Mamunul Haque gathered in front of the Kashimpur jail.

Mamunul was arrested from Jamia Rahmania Arabia Madrasa in the capital's Mohammadpur area on 18 April 2021.
