Policeman crushed under train in uncontrolled rail crossing

A police official has been crushed under the wheels of a train at an uncontrolled rail crossing in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia district.

The incident happened around 1:30 pm on Friday in Katdahachar area of Kusha union.

The deceased is Saidur Rahman, 45, a sub-inspector at Mazihat Police Camp of the upazila.

Mirpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Mostafa Habibullah said a freight train hit his motorcycle and pulled him around one and a half kilometers away from the spot when he was crossing the rail line.  He died on the spot.
