Obaidul Quader brother`s nomination cancelled

The nomination paper of Shahadat Hossain, younger brother of Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, has been cancelled.

Returning officer also additional district magistrate Muhammad Ismail cancelled his nomination for concealing information in the affidavit on Sunday noon (May 5).

The valid candidates for the post of chairman in that upazila are - former upazila chairman and incumbent upazila Awami League general secretary Mizanur Rahman Badal, former convenor and businessman of upazila Jubo League Mohammad Golam Sharif Chowdhury Pipul and US expatriate Omar Ali.

Regarding the nomination cancellation, Shahadat Hossain, said I was not aware of the case in my name. There is an option to file an appeal in this regard. I will file the appeal.
