20 salt-laden trawlers capsize in Bay, 70 missing

A total of 16 salt-laden trawlers capsized amid inclement weather in coastal areas of the Bay of Bengal in Anwara of Chattogram on Wednesday.  At least 70 people went missing in the incidents.

According to sources, there were 100 workers in the trawlers. 

On information, the Coast Guard and River Police reached the spot and rescued 30 people.

Chattogram Naval Police Super AFM Nizam Uddin said, the trawlers were going to Chattogram after loading salt from Maheshkhali, Anwara and Banshkhali. But they were hit by a nor'wester.
