Mango harvest to start in Rajshahi from May 15

The Rajshahi district administration has fixed May 15 for beginning mango harvest. Stern action will be taken if anyone tries to violate the direction.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi district Shameem Ahmed revealed the information in a program at the conference room at the district administration on Sunday (May 12).
He said that Rajshahi is known as the state of mango. So that no one can sell unripe and adulterated mangoes in the market, a meeting has been convened in coordination with the Agriculture Department on the issue of storage, preservation and marketing of this fruit. All types of guti variety can be harvested from May 15.
If anyone sells the mango before the date violating the decision, then legal action would be taken against them, he added.
Rajshahi metropolitan police (RMP) additional deputy commissioner (crime and operations) Sabina Yeasmin, Umme Salma, Training Officer, Department of Agriculture Extension, Rajshahi and others attended the program.
