MV Abdullah arriving in Kutubdia this evening

MV Abdullah, the Bangladeshi-flagged ship released by Somali pirates after a month in captivity, is arriving in Chattogram’s Kutubdia on Monday evening carrying all the 23 sailors.

Shipping authority said that the ship would enter in Kutubdia deep sea channel this afternoon or evening. All the crew members of the ship are fit. A fresh batch of sailors and crew members will be sent to the ship after arrival at Kutubdia. The crew members at the ship will be taken to Jetty Sadarghat by KSRM lighter ship on Tuesday (May 14). Then, they will meet their family members there.

The ship MV Abdullah will unload in Kutubdia some of the 56,000 tonnes of stones it is carrying from the UAE which will take two days. The ship will then come to Chattogram Port and unload the rest of the cargo at the outer anchorage.

Earlier, the ship MV Abdullah on board 23 sailors left the United Arab Emirates Port for Chattogram. The ship had been hijacked by the Somali pirates on March 12 which was released on April 14.
