Depositors withdraw Tk 13,000 crore in one month

Depositors withdrew Tk 12,939 crore from different banks in the month of January.

A report of Bangladesh Bank disclosed this recently.

Due to various irregularities like increase in default loans, loan scams, the financial base of some banks is becoming weak. As a result, the central bank has taken an initiative to merge the weak banks with the strong banks. Due to these reasons, the crisis of confidence of customers in the banking sector is decreasing, sources said.
