5 killed in Comilla bus plunge

At least five people were killed and seven others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at in Cumilla's Chauddagram upazila on Friday morning (May 17).

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Chauddagram fire service In-charge Biplab Kumar Nath said on information, rescuers rushed to the spot and sent the injured to upazila health complex.

Trinath Chandra Saha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chauddagram said Cox’Bazar bound a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Chattogram highway this morning, leaving five people dead on the spot.

Police, fire service and locals are jointly conducting the rescue drive, the OC added.
