Man convicted for killing wife arrested after 22 years

A man, who was sentenced to life term imprisonment for killing his wife in Noakhali in 2002, was arrested 22 years after of the incident.

The arrestee is known as - Samsuddin, 55, son of late Joynal Abedin.

RAB-11 CPC-3 sources said the convict went into hiding soon after killing his wife Ayesha Khatun in 2002 in the district's Companiganj upazila. ASI Md Mokhlesur Rahman filed a murder case with Sudharam Model police station on June 23, 2002. Later, the court sentenced the killer a life term imprisonment on July 30, 2009.

RAB-11, CPC-3 Noakhali Company Commander (acting) Assistant police super Md Golam Morshed said the convicted person was handed over to the police station to take legal steps in this regard.
