Vishnu idol found while digging pond in Munshiganj

An idol, likely made of cast stone, has been found while digging a pond in Munshiganj’s Tongibari.

Sources said that a pond in Uttar Betka village was being dug out around 11:00am on Friday. Meanwhile, two workers named Mobarak Sheikh and Mitul Hossain found the idol.

Later, on information upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Aslam Hossain rushed to the spot and recovered it.

The 37 inch tall Vishnu statue will be sent to treasury, the UNO added.
