Case filed against 73 including Upazila chairman

A case has been filed against 73 including newly-elected Upazila Chairman Md Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan in connection with a post-polls violence in Gopalganj Sadar upazila.

A supporter of a defeated candidate of the first phase of upazila Parishad election was shot to death in post-polls violence in Gopalganj's Sadar upazila on the night of May 13.

The deceased was identified as Md Ashiqur Bhuiyan, a supporter of defeated candidate BM Liakat Ali.

The deceased’s sister Parul Begum filed a case on Thursday night.
