Turag community train derailed in Gazipur

A compartment of Turag commuter train derailed near Gazipur's Dhirasram Railway Station this morning (May 23).

The incident took place around 8:00am, Joydebpur railway junction and station master Hanif Ali confirmed.

He said Dhaka-bound Turag Commuter train left Joydebpur station this morning in time. Later, a compartment of the train derailed after crossing Dhirasram station, resulting Dhaka-Joydebpur rail line closure.

After the accident, the east side line was temporarily closed, but the bi-rotation train movement on the west side line was kept as normal, he added.
