Assistant Presiding Officer dies in polling center

An assistant presiding officer named Md. Emdadul Haq has died on duty at a polling center of Habiganj sadar upazila.

He died at Umednagar Municipal High School Center at around 11:00am on Wednesday. 

Faridul Islam, executive engineer of Habiganj LGED, confirmed the news.

He said Md. Emdadul Haque was on duty in the Habiganj Sadar Upazila Parishad polls. 

In the morning, he suddenly felt a pain in his chest. He was immediately taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. His body has been taken to his village home in Pabna. 

He left behind wife and a son.
