50 pirates surrender with firearms in Chattogram

A total of 50 pirates of 12 groups in the coastal areas of Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar have surrendered to the home minister along with firearms and ammunition under the supervision of RAB-7.

The pirates surrendered to the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and submitted the arms at a programme at the Elite Hall of Patenga RAB-7 in Patenga in the port city on Thursday (May 30).

Among the 50 pirates, one is female and three of them were listed in the Home Ministry’s list, according to a source.

The elite force said that the pirates promised to return to normal life after leaving the criminal activities.
