Cyclone Remal: Carcasses of 131 animals recovered from Sundarbans

The number of dead wild animals are on the rise in the Sundarbans due to the rampage of cyclone ‘Remal’ that swept over the country’s coastal districts.
Forest officials recovered 31 more deer bodies from different areas of the Sundarbans in the past 24 hours.
With the latest figure, a total of 131 carcasses of wild animals have been recovered from Sundarbans.
Mihir Kumar Doe, Conservator of the Forest (CF) department in Khulna circle confirmed the figure to risingbd.
The violent storm destroyed massive infrastructures, huge trawlers and numerous trees, washed away water basins and intruded saline water into over 80 sweet water ponds, destroying the abode of the wild animals, said the forest officials.
