Body parts inside luggage, head lying outside

Police recovered the body of an unidentified youth from the banks of Sutia River in Mymensingh.

The body was recovered from under the bridge over Sutia River on the Tangail-Mymensingh road in Monati area under Sadar upazila on Sunday (June 2) morning.

Kotwali Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Main Uddin said that the locals found a head detached from the body under the bridge and a big luggage lying next to it and later informed the police.

Being informed, the police reached the spot and recovered the head. Police also opened the luggage and found the remaining body parts inside.

He further said that the body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. At the same time, efforts are being made to identify the deceased.

Legal action will be taken in this regard, the OC said.
