Wife, child slaughtered to death: Relatives reveal reasons behind

A case has been filed naming husband Azizul Haque and father-in-law Hamidul Haque and accusing 2-3 unknown persons over slaughtering wife Asha Moni and son Abdullah Hel Rafi to death at a residential hotel in Bogura.

Asadul Islam, Asha Moni’s father, filed the case on Sunday (June 2) night.

Family feud and demand of dowry have been mentioned in the case statement.

Regarding the reason for the murder, Asha Moni’s aunt Mafia alleged that Azizul had been demanding for dowry to the family of Asha Moni since marriage. So far, Tk 5 lakh has been given as dowry. But Azizul was demanding for another Tk one lakh. Azizul killed wife Asha Moni and his son for not getting that money.

Asha Moni’s father said, “Azizul has killed my daughter and grandchild for dowry. I demand maximum punishment for him.”

Shahjahanpur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Hasan Hafizur Rahman said, “Two accused in the case have been arrested. In the meantime, Azizul confessed to killing his wife and son by slaughtering their throats during the primary interrogation.”

“Azizul said that he cut off Rafi’s head and dumped it in the Karatoa river. The head still remains untraced after long search. The operation is going on in the river to get the head,” added the police officer.

Earlier, police recovered the throat-slit bodies of a woman and her 11-month-old son Abdullah Hel Rafi from a room of Shuvechha residential hotel in Banani area of Bogura city around 12pm yesterday.
