Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing along Cumilla border

A 50-year-old Bangladeshi man was killed after members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire along the border at Burichang upazila of Cumilla on Sunday (June 9) morning.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, son of late Charu Mia, of Mirpur village of Bakshimul union of the upazila.
The incident took place around 8:00am along Zamtola frontier under Bakshimul union in the upazila.
Burichang police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Hasnat Khandkar confirmed this to the media.
Local UP member Abul Kashem said the body is now in the area adjacent to barbed wire and under the supervision of the BSF.
