Three trapped in Sylhet landslide

Three members of the same family got trapped beneath the rubble after a large chunk of earth collapsed in the Chamelibagh area of Sylhet city.
The incident took place around 6am on Monday (June 10).
Shahparan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Harunur Rashid Chowdhury confirmed the information.
The OC said, “We sent a team of police to the spot after receiving the information. Police and fire service of Sylhet City Corporation are conducting rescue operations. Hillock collapsed on a house due to heavy rain, leaving three people trapped under the rubble.”
In this incident, three injured people were rescued and admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Jahangir Alam, councilor of Ward No. 35 of Sylhet City Corporation, said: “Three of the same family were rescued alive, while three of another family are still buried. Those trapped beneath the rubble are Karim, his wife and their child.”
Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury also visited the spot.
