Chattogram Jhut godown fire doused

A fire that broke out in a Jhut (unused fabric of garment factories) godown at Uttar Kattali area in Chattogram on Wednesday (June 12) morning has been brought under control.
Six firefighting units brought the fire under control around 1:30 pm on Wednesday (June 12) after around three hours of their frantic effort.
Abdullah Harun Pasha, deputy assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire originated around 10:30 am in the godown of Gartex Garments. On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and started working to bring the fire under control. The blaze was extinguished after around three hours of their frantic effort.
However, no injuries or causalities were reported so far, he said.
The origin of the fire is believed to have originated from electric short circuit.
