Man commits suicide after killing daughter

Police said a man committed suicide after slaughtering his five-year-old daughter to death at Kaunia in Barishal city on Wednesday (June 12) morning.

The deceased were Naim Hawladar, 35, son of Shahjahan Hawladar and her daughter Rabeya Boshri Roza.

Arafat Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) of Kaunia Police Station, said Naim got divorced from his wife four months back. Since then, Roza used to live with her father.

On Tuesday night, Naim’s wife made a phone call to him and said she would come on Wednesday morning to take her daughter with her.

After this, Naim killed his daughter by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon and committed suicide.
