Flood water claims two lives in Moulvibazar

A child and a teenager died after drowning in flood waters in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila.

The incident happened in Shyam Kona village of Chadnighat union in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila on Thursday (June 20) noon.

The deceased were identified as Sadi Mia, 8, son of Foisal Mia of West Shyam Kona village, and Hriday Ahmed, 16, son of Jamir Ali of the same village.

According to the police and local sources, three people were swimming in the flood water and two of them drowned due to the heavy tide. One person was rescued alive at this time.

Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahbubur Alam confirmed the matter.
