Husband, wife die in Cox`s Bazar landslide

A man and his wife were killed in a landslide in Badshaghona area of Cox’s Bazar Sadar early Friday (June 21).

The incident took place around 3:30 am.

The deceased were known as Anwar Hossain, 26, and his wife Maimuna Akter, 23. Anwar Hossain worked as Muazzin in a local mosque.

Abdullah, a relative of the victims said that a chunk of mud from a hill collapsed on their house when they were in sleep, leaving the husband and wife injured. Later, they were sent to a hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

Cox’s Bazar Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibuzzaman confirmed the matter.
