Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing on Lalmonirhat border

A Bangladeshi man was killed in firing by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members on Tuesday night along the border in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The deceased is Nurul Islam, 60, son of Moynuddin of Dulali village in Goral union under the upazila.
Lt Colonel Md Mofazzal Hossain Akand, commander of Lalmonirhat 15 BGB battalion, said, members of a patrol team of BSF camp opened fire on some Bangladeshi cattle traders along the border on Tuesday night, leaving Nurul dead on the spot.
A flag meeting will be held between the two countries over the death of the Bangladeshi national in BSF firing, he said.
Imtiaz Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliganj police station, confirmed the matter and said that the body will be handed over to the victim’s family after autopsy.
