Fire in oil-carrying vessel in Buriganga, 3 workers missing

An oil-carrying trawler caught fire on the Buriganga River in Narayanganj's Fatullah on Wednesday noon (June 26).
The trawler had 86 drums laden patrol and 70 drums of diesel.
Meanwhile, all the drums were exploded due to the fire, said Meghna Depot In-charge Ziaur Rahman.
Four workers were on board the trawler. Of them, one managed to swim ashore, but others went missing.
Eight firefighting units are trying to douse the fire that originated around 1:30pm, said Fakhruddin, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service.
Fatullah Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nure Alam Mia confirmed the matter.
