4 convicts escaped from jail: 3 prison guards suspended

Three prison guards were suspended following the escape of four death row convicts from the Bogura district jail.

The authority also issued show-cause notice to two other prison guards over the incident.

District jail super Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday night (June 26).

The suspended prison guards are – Chief prison guard Dulal, prison guard Abdul Matin and Ariful Islam.

Sources said district administration and DIG prison formed separate probe committee over the jailbreak incident.

Following the issues, Bogra Additional District Magistrate PM Imrul Kayes said, it is an internal matter of the jail. It is a separate department. Our investigation has started already.

Bogura Jail Super Anwar Hossain said the action has been taken against them on the charge of neglect of duties.
