Three killed in Chattogram fire 

At least three people have been burned to death in a fire at a commercial building in Chattogram’s Riajuddin Market.

Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

The fire originated at 1:40 am on Friday (June 28).

Confirming the matter, Chattogram fire service division’s deputy assistant Director Abdur Razzak said the originated from two shops in electronics market of the Riajuddin Bazar.

On information, nine fire units rushed to the spot and tried to bring the blaze under control. Meanwhile, four victims including woman and children were rescued and sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared three of them dead.

Locals said that two floors of the eight-storey building were commercial establishments and the remaining six floors were residential.
