That goat found in Savar

There are allegations of amassing illegal wealth worth thousand crore of money against Md Matiur Rahman, president of the National Board of Revenue’s Customs, Excise, and VAT Appellate Tribunal.

The allegations of amassing illegal wealth by the NBR official came to light after a video of Matiur’s son, Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat, who bought a goat at a price of Tk 15 lakh, went viral before Eid-ul-Azha.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday seized ten banned Brahman breed calves and the infamous goat from a branch of Sadeeq Agro farm in Bhakurta area of Savar upazila. 

During the raid, led by ACC Assistant Director Abul Kalam Azad, the commission seized three Brahman cows and seven Brahman calves aged between 7 to 10 months and the infamous goat.

The ACC official said they also found over 200 cattle, including 10 camels and two horses, as well as several thousand ducks, chickens, pigeons, and other prohibited species.
