Police won’t take anybody’s responsibility over Benazir issue: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said that the force will not take the responsibility of any person over former IGP Benazir Ahmed issue.

He said this while addressing as the chief guest at a function organised on the occasion of the 32nd founding anniversary of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police on Tuesday (July 2).

IGP said, “Police are not sitting, they are working. When there is any complaint surfaced against someone, the police launch investigation and action is taken as per law.”

The police chief said, “We are also modernizing the police force along with changing the crime pattern of criminals. State-of-the-art equipment is being added to the force. The police force is working for the interest of the country, maintaining professionalism with pride. No individual’s liability will not fall on the responsibility of the police force.”
