4 to die for killing AL leader, 10 get life term

A court has sentenced four people to death in a case over the murder of Iqbal Azad, an Awami League (AL) leader in Brahmanbaria.
The court has also sentenced 10 other accused to life imprisonment. The court has also acquitted 13 people as their involvement was not proved.
Chattogram Division Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Halim Ullah Chowdhury pronounced the judgment on Wednesday (July 3).
Death row convicts are - former chairman of Sarail Upazila Parishad Rafiq Uddin Thakur, Mahfuz Ali, Mokarram Hossain Sohel and Ismat Ali.
Who have got life term are Abdul Jabbar, Siraj, Idris Ali, Babu, Harish, Bakul, Limon, Abdullah, Sharif and Mizan.
Iqbal Azad was killed in front of Thana Bhaban on October 21 in 2012.
