3 die after falling into septic tank in Rangpur

Two members of a family were among three people killed after inhaling toxic gas in a septic tank in Udaypur village of Gopalpur union under Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur.

The deceased were known as Delwara Begum, wife of Badsha Mia, his son Huda Mia, and Iblul Mia, son of Tabarak Hossain.

The incident took place around 8:00am on Thursday (July 4).

Local sources said that Delwara Begum accidentally fell into the septic tank this morning. Meanwhile, her son Huda mia and neighbor Iblul Mia rushed to the spot to rescue her but they also fell into it. Later, fire service recovered their bodies.

Mithapukur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ferdous Wahid confirmed the matter.
